At Hachette Book Group, I work on a team of five as a Front End Developer and Designer. I use Wordpress child themes create websites for authors, departments, and featured books. My biggest project to date has been the complete re-design and development of the new JamesPatterson.com
My passion for design started 10 years ago in high school, when I thought yearbook class would be just another elective. I fell further in love with design in college at UNC Chapel Hill, when I found myself procrastiworking on websites, blogs, and flyers to promote my extracurricular activities. I started teaching myself frontend development as a way to modify blog templates and websites. After college, I got my start as a professional designer in Sarasota, FL before relocating to NYC, where I worked at Macmillan Publishers for 3.5 years before moving to Hachette Book Group.
I believe that the best design is one that disappears into its function, which is why being involved in the entire life cycle of a site—from design to development, is so important to me. My designs are clean, simple, user-focused, and dynamic—and so is my code.
When I'm not designing, I'm often hiking, inline skating, training for a marathon, or planning my next travel destination, which will be sure to include a brewery tour.
Please get in contact with me if you'd like to work together or just say hello.
